REFLECTIONS OF ORAVYA: LIVING HERITAGE

Together with the OKNO discussion forum, we invite you to Living Heritage - the opening event of the new Reflections of Orava cycle.
In the project, we combine history, architecture, and art with practical demonstrations of crafts and create a space to develop knowledge about the cultural identity of our region.
Fair Friday at the library
The event takes place during the Autumn Fair in Námestovo and in the year when we commemorate the 250th anniversary of the granting of market privileges to our town (1776). From the hustle and bustle of the fair on the square, you can seamlessly move to our library for live craft demonstrations and discussion.
What can you look forward to?
Craft demonstrations
Get to know the traditional processing of flax and the author's blueprint up close. Our guests will be Zuzana Kovalčíková from Leštíny and Matej Rabada (Ateliér Rabada / OZ Farbiareň) from Párnica.
Discussion WINDOW
The event will feature a moderated OKNO forum discussion with our guests. We will talk about the challenges of preserving traditions, touching materials, and how craft works in contemporary design and life.
The discussion will be moderated by Michal Kurtulík.
