In the center of the village of Podbiel, rows of old log cabins stand, giving the impression that time has stood still. The ensemble in the Bobrova ra\u013ea section has been around since 1977. a monument reserve of folk architecture<\/strong> \u2013 and unlike an open-air museum, it is still a living village.<\/p>\n

What will you see?<\/h2>\n

The houses date from the mid-19th and early 20th centuries. They have a log cabin on a stone foundation, steep gable roofs and gables facing the street with small windows. Originally there were 56 residential units in 32 rows \u2013 semi-detached houses, three-storey houses and even one four-storey house. A typical house had a room, a pitvor (hallway) and a pantry.<\/p>\n

Opposite the swinging statue of J\u00e1no\u0161\u00edk is Small ethnographic museum<\/strong> with household items, tools, archaeological finds and the history of the Podbiel \u2013 Zuberec narrow-gauge railway (in season, admission for a voluntary contribution).<\/p>\n
